 I hate these "bios", mostly because I never really know what to write about myself. Mundane details are almost always the obvious choice, such as: I'm a female, I'm 30, I'm an artist, I'm Native American (Lakota)/Irish/Czech, I have a cat, I've had different journals here on LJ for about 7 years now, etc. etc. That gets pretty boring for me as well as anyone reading, but I suppose some getting-to-know-you bullshit is necessary, so here we go:
It's important to know I'm bisexual and that I'm engaged to a woman. This is important because if you happen to be of the homophobic persuasion, I am not your cup of tea. I have serious problems with organized religion, and have a rather "alternative" belief system that I feel suits my needs quite well. I'm vegan and an animal rights supporter - I absolutely do not "preach" to anyone, though one thing that will send me spiraling into a violent frenzy is people that wear fur. I'm an Obama supporter 100%, and a registered Democrat. Republicans tend to piss me off, but I don't always entirely disagree with some of them. I love music, all kinds of music, but I mostly listen to rock/metal/rap/industrial. I love horror and sci-fi movies, and I'm a huge geeked-out fan of the Alien movies. Documentaries are also a big deal to me, I truly cannot get enough of them. This American Life, Radio Lab, and Vegan Freak Radio are the podcasts most often heard pouring from my computer speakers. I have a crackhead-like relationship with Top Ramen noodles. I love fashion, hair, and make-up, yet often you will see me dressed down with little or no make-up. Quantum physics fascinates me. I secretly love watching The Hills on Mtv.
I'm extremely sarcastic in my humor and outlook, yet deep down I'm a complete optimist. I hate being in charge, but I hate being told what to do even more. I'm a Taurus. I swear, a lot. The "F-word" is my personal favorite - it's a noun, an adjective, a verb [ie: "OMG You fucked her you fucked up fucker!"] and it always nicely emphasizes a point.
I suppose that's enough - anything more will be found in my blog entries I'm sure. My entries are a mix of both public and friends-only, and I also do audio posts (which are friends-only). I'll add pretty much anyone as a friend here on LiveJournal, so long as they're not completely batshit, or criminally insane (at least in the really bad kind of way). Leave me a comment somewhere if you do decide to add me, or I'll never be able to figure out who the hell you are!
